Those of you who know me and/or read my blog will know that I previously worked for Benefit Cosmetics as an account manager for almost two and a half years. Having recently left due to differences within the company, I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to do, job wise. Being in the fortunate position where there was no financial pressure to find work straight away, I decided to take my time and see what was out there. Obviously having eight+ years of retail experience naturally swayed me to look for a new retail position and my passion for beauty and previous job role pushed me towards a make up based job again. However, having tortured myself with three years of university with the end goal being to get into some kind of journalism/publishing/editing career, I also began looking at potential routes into this path.
I am super excited to be able to say that I have joined the team as business manager for NYX Professional Makeup in Boots Meadowhall! Not only is this a job that I love doing for a brand I have worn for many, many years, it’s also a promotion in a sense, having progressed from an account manager with Benefit Cosmetics to a business manager with NYX Professional Makeup. I am so excited to get stuck into my new role! It is only a maternity cover position at the moment, but who knows what will happen? I’m taking each day as it comes!
For people who have not used NYX Professional Makeup or may have not heard of them before, they are an American brand formed in Los Angeles in 1999 by Toni Ko, before being sold to Loreal in 2014. In the last two years, NYX Professional Makeup has become a lot more accessible in the UK with counters opening in Boots and Debenhams stores across the country, as well as stand-alone boutiques appearing. NYX Professional Makeup aims to deliver department store quality products with drugstore prices, making it an accessible brand for make up artists, make up addicts and make up newbies alike. With over 2000 products, we have everything you could ever need in your make up bag!
Expect lots of exciting posts from me in the future!
